Today marks the 47th International Museum Day, with this year's theme being "Museums, Sustainability and Well-being". In Southwest China's Guizhou province, museums will hold exhibitions, forums, performances, parades, and intangible cultural heritage showcases, providing audiences with a cultural feast.

From May 18 to August 18, the Guizhou Provincial Museum will present a new exhibition to showcase Guizhou's culture of bridges. Commemorative postmarks, DIY activities, and lectures will also be a part of the exhibition.

The Geological Museum of Guizhou, also Guizhou's main venue to celebrate this year's International Museum Day, will hold a fair allowing visitors to experience intangible cultural heritage wax dyeing, as well as singing, dancing, fashion shows, situational dramas, and magic performances.

The Guizhou Ethnic Museum will feature a range of new exhibitions, including a boutique exhibition of Guizhou's branded products, an exhibition of Chinese imperial examination culture, an exhibition of calligraphy and painting collections from Yushan Museum in East China's Jiangxi province, a photography exhibition by Liu Yongjian, and an exhibition of the Nanyue Palace site.

Visitors can also experience intangible cultural heritage items such as embroidery, paper cutting, plant dyeing, and bamboo weaving, and enjoy ethnic song and dance performances and a music concert at the Guizhou Ethnic Museum.

Museums in Guizhou's Qiandongnan Miao and Dong autonomous prefecture, Zunyi city, Liupanshui city and Bijie city will also hold activities, exhibitions and lectures to celebrate International Museum Day.
