Vocational skills take center stage in Shenzhen

The vocational training authority of Hong Kong has also dispatched an official technical observation team to take part in the event, experiencing the competitive style of various skills competitions.

Winners of the competitions will be trained further to take part in a national skills competition later this year and in the 47th WorldSkills Competition, which will be held this year in France.

Five technical colleges also signed cooperative agreements with 12 companies on Thursday to help develop skilled workers for high-quality development in the Greater Bay Area.

According to the Guangdong Human Resources and Social Security Department, the number of skilled workers in Guangdong is currently 18.5 million. Of those, highly skilled talents accounts for 34.1 percent.
