Huangshan city in Anhui province has deepened its commercial cooperation with its partners in Malaysia, signing a memorandum of understanding at the Keemun Black Tea Promotion and Exchange Meeting, held in the city of Kuala Lumpur on May 14.

Representatives from Huangshan promoted its scenery and the history of its Qimen Black Tea in videos.
Liu Junguang, president of the Malaysia Tea Association and Chen Runqun, manager of the commercial executions and product development department of Malaysian company Beshom Holdings Bhd, made speeches in which they discussed the current situation of the local tea industry in the country and the future demand of its tea market.

Keemun is the old spelling of Qimen. Qimen Black Tea, which originated in Qimen county in Huangshan city of Anhui, is among the most famous black teas in China and has been consumed in the west for well over a hundred years.
It is among the favorite black tea varieties drunk by the British royal family and is known for its distinctive and fruity taste.
The art of making Qimen Black Tea is believed to have originated in the reign of the Emperor Guangxu during the Qing Dynasty (1644-1911) and was added on Nov 29 to the Representative List of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity compiled by UNESCO.
