The Jiangyan Nanraocheng Expressway in Taizhou, East China's Jiangsu province opened to traffic on May 8.
The trip between the city's Hailing district and Jiangyan district can currently be completed in 20 minutes.
The project had a total investment of nearly 2.62 billion yuan ($376.9 million) and covers a length of 8.59 kilometers, making it the only fully-interconnected expressway in Taizhou.
The main expressway system features a dual six-lane, first-class standard road and urban expressway with a design speed of 80 kilometers per hour. The ground-level auxiliary road adopts a dual six-lane urban main road standard with a design speed of 50 kilometers per hour.
The construction of this project will greatly promote Taizhou's modernization, as well as establish a comprehensive and efficient transportation corridor, fulfilling the 20-minute "urban integration" transportation circle construction plan and improving city service functions.
