An activity promoting the investment policies of North China's Shanxi province and Cross-Strait (Taiyuan) Industrial Park was held on May 12 in Dongguan, South China's Guangdong province.

The event was hosted by Shanxi Department of Commerce, the Taiwan Affairs Office of Shanxi Provincial Government, Shanxi Department of Industry and Information Technology, and Taiyuan municipal government.

It aimed to attract more Taiwan investors to enter industrial parks in Shanxi, discuss cooperation and development, provide opportunities for strengthening industrial chain cooperation between Shanxi and Taiwan, and undertake industrial transfers from the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area.

Representatives of Taiwan-related associations, and over 30 Taiwan enterprises in the cities of Dongguan and Guangzhou, attended the event.

Shanxi representatives introduced the province's preferential investment and service policies targeting Taiwan and industrial park planning, especially encouraging Taiwan businesspeople and enterprises to participate in the construction of characteristic professional towns, support the development of key industrial chains, and engage further in the creative cultural and agricultural sectors.

The Pearl River Delta region ranks among the earliest and most concentrated areas where businesspeople from Taiwan have invested in the Chinese mainland. With the new trend of global industrial restructuring and industrial transfer, more Taiwan companies are seeking greater space for development there.

In Shanxi, in addition to implementing a program to improve and innovate the local business environment, a number of policies to enhance services for Taiwan compatriots and enterprises have been introduced, providing more convenience for them to live, study, start businesses, and find employment in the province.

The Cross-Strait (Taiyuan) Industrial Park in the Taiyuan-Xinzhou Integrated Economic Zone in central Shanxi undertakes the transfer of advanced manufacturing, new materials, semiconductors, energy conservation and environmental protection, and the next generation of information technology industries in the Yangtze River Delta and the Pearl River Delta.

The park attracts headquarters and high-end businesses as well as the cultural creative, modern agriculture, digital economy, and modern logistics industries.

It supports Taiwan business people's participation in the park's construction and industrial planning, and encourages them to invest in infrastructure construction and municipal public utilities through sole proprietorship, joint ventures, and other forms of cooperation.
