Discover a treasure trove of art at the Wuhan Museum in Hubei province! The museum is showcasing 100 masterpieces of painting and calligraphy dating from the 15th century through to modern times, all of which were donated by Tong Qiulong (1920-2008) in 1988.

The exhibit is held to celebrate the generosity of Tong, a native of Wuhan, and is the first Tong’s donations are being displayed collectively to the public.

One of the highlights of the exhibit is –Zheng Banqiao (1693-1765)’s Excerpt of Huaisu’s “Autobiographical Essay” – a national treasure. It is one of the copies that Zheng created as gifts to his friends. Other extant works are kept globally, including at the Yangzhou Museum, Taipei Palace Museum, and Tokyo National Museum.

The exhibit will run until June 10.
