In order to connect with foreign superior resources for the development of the horse industry and help promote the establishment of a "China Horse City" in Baotou, Feng Guisha, director of the Baotou foreign affairs office, visited the Embassy of Argentina in China, in Beijing on May 8.
Officials from the Administrative Office and the Cultural and Education Office of the Argentine Embassy in China greeted Feng and her team, during which the two sides conducted exchanges on the signing of international sister city agreements and the promotion of equestrian sports and polo events.
Argentina is relatively developed in terms of agriculture and animal husbandry, as well as its dairy industry and horse industry – especially in sci-tech and personnel training in these industries.
Among them, the country's horse industry enjoys a leading position globally in horse breeding, polo sports and personnel training.
Finally, the two sides signed agreements of intent to pursue exchanges and cooperation in the following areas: strengthening the cooperative relationship between the Argentina Polo and Horse Breeding Association and relevant enterprises in Baotou; training equestrian, polo and other sports talents; inviting Argentine institutions to participate in equestrian and other sports events in Baotou; organizing Argentine teams and related enterprises to participate in the second Baotou Polo Open; assisting Baotou to find cities in Argentina that are mutually compatible in agriculture, animal husbandry, polo, equestrian fields and other aspects to establish sister city ties.
