Xinwu district in Wuxi, Jiangsu province has recently strengthened cooperation with Singapore, signing a number of new agreements.
The district and Singapore Sembcorp Industries, a leading global provider of energy and urban solutions, will once again join forces to build the Wuxi-Singapore Sci-Tech Innovation City. The city will focus on industries including integrated circuits, intelligent equipment, biomedicine, new energy and new energy vehicles.
The two sides established the Wuxi-Singapore Industrial Park in 1993, which was Singapore's first industrial park in China and the oldest in Wuxi.
Xinwu also signed agreements with Ams-Osram, a global leader in optical solutions, to build a high-power LED chip packaging and global research and development center. Chison Medical Technologies, a Xinwu company, also signed an agreement with Nanyang Technological University in Singapore to build a joint research project focusing on medical imaging technology.
