The expansion of businesses in Taizhou city – located in East China's Jiangsu province – significantly increased in the first quarter of the current year, with 20,240 new businesses reportedly registered in the first quarter alone.
By end-March, there were 686,374 business entities recorded in Taizhou.
Of those, 6,603 were new companies, an increase of 9.29 percent year-on-year; with 13,593 new individual businesses, an increase of 19.34 percent year-on-year; while 44 registered as new farmer cooperatives, an increase of 83.33 percent year-on-year.
Overall, Taizhou is said to have done a great deal to streamline its business entity registrations system.
This has included setting up registration service stations in various industrial parks throughout the city, deepening "individual-to-business" reforms and promoting a series of innovative policies and measures to support enterprises and invigorate the market.
