15 universities in Jiangsu ranked among China's top 100

Fifteen universities in East China's Jiangsu province made it to the 2023 list of the 100 best Chinese comprehensive universities released by ShanghaiRanking Consultancy, a professional higher education rating agency, on March 30.

The number is the second highest among all provincial-level administrative divisions in China. Beijing has the most universities on the list.

Nanjing University was ranked sixth, the same as the previous year, while Southeast University jumped from 16th to 15th. Among the top 50 were Nanjing University of Science and Technology, Nanjing University of Aeronautics and Astronautics, as well as Soochow University.

Out of all medical universities, Nanjing Medical University had the third highest ranking and China Pharmaceutical University, also located in Nanjing, was placed in 10th.

Nanjing Sport Institute was ranked 7th in its field, while Xi'an Jiaotong-Liverpool University in Suzhou was the fourth best cooperative university and Wuxi Taihu University was the ninth best private university.

The top three spots on the list of best comprehensive universities were again Tsinghua University, Peking University, and Zhejiang University.
