Hainan Hospital of Ruijin Hospital affiliated to Shanghai Jiao Tong University School of Medicine

Hainan Hospital of Ruijin Hospital affiliated to Shanghai Jiao Tong University School of Medicine (Hainan Boao Research Hospital) (hereinafter eferred to as "Ruijin Hainan Hospital"), is built with the People's Government of Hainan Province as its main body, with Shanghai Ruijin Hospital as the output hospital and Hainan Provincial People's Hospital as the supporting hospital, with the People's Government of Hainan Province entrusting Ruijin Hospital with the overall operation and management, with the goal of building a national regional medical center.

Ruijin Hainan Hospital will transfer the "technology, talent, management and brand" of Shanghai Ruijin Hospital, and focus on three major discipline groups, "tumor and hematology discipline group, cardiovascular and metabolic discipline group, neurobrain science discipline group", with up to 500 approved beds in the first phase.

It will make use of the convenient and developed transportation network of Lecheng Pilot Zone and the preferential policies such as "three synchronization" of medical technology, equipment and medicine with the international advanced level, and strive to build Ruijin Hainan Hospital into the world's first user of new drugs and new instruments in China, the global promoter of new drugs and new instruments in China, the best medical care solution provider, and the world's clinical medicine progress pioneer in the world clinical medicine.

In October 2022, the National Development and Reform Conmmission, the National Health Commission, the State Administration of TCM jointly released the List of the Fourth Batch of Construction Projects of Regional Health Centers. The Ruijin Hospital Hainan Affiliated to the Medical School of Shanghai Jiaotong University (Hainan Boao Research-based Hospital) was officially approved among the fourth batch of construction projects of regional health centers, which signifies that Hainan has taken an important step forward in the construction of regional health centers.
