The Academic Forum on In-depth Integration of Publishing was hosted by Zhejiang University to explore new formats of publishing on April 22.
At the conference, not only did domestic and foreign academic experts on publishing discuss the issue of in-depth integration of publishing, they also presented the achievements of the national publishing think tank and the Digital Publishing Research Center of Zhejiang University. Conference attendees also witnessed the signing and expert appointment ceremony of the China Digital Publishing Research Base.
This forum consisted of two parts, the first being the signing ceremony, and the second being the report from the center and a forum. These two parts were jointly hosted by Chu Chaofu, Chairman and Secretary of the Party Committee and Editor-in-chief of Zhejiang University Press, and Chen Jie, Executive Director of the Digital Publishing Research Center of Zhejiang University and professor of the School of Literature of Zhejiang University.
At the beginning of the forum, Liu Binjie delivered an online speech. He said that the Digital Publishing Center of Zhejiang University has built an open, cooperative and shared platform for the development of digital publishing. He suggested that the future-oriented in-depth integration of publishing and reading should be planned comprehensively and be cross-generation, cross-border and cross-industry.
The base was unveiled following the signing of a contract for the co-construction of the "China Digital Publishing Research Base" by Liu Yingli, Director of the Standardization Institute of the Chinese Academy of Press and Publication, and Jin Gengda, Director of Zhejiang University's Digital Publishing Research Center.
As a signing representative, Dong Yimin made a speech looking forward to the strategic cooperation between the China Academy of Press and Publication and the Digital Publishing Research Center of Zhejiang University in talent training and base construction, and shared the achievements of the China Academy of Press and Publication in engineering research and development, talent training and more. In his remarks, he said that industrial transformation and upgrading are the future and that the China Academy of Press and Publication provides technology and services to assist the industrial transformation and upgrading process. In addition, he suggested that both parties take advantage of the contract, utilize their respective strengths to the fullest extent possible, and take advantage of scientific research projects.
As an important force, publishing will play a strong role in the cultural industry. With the continuous upgrading of digital technology and top-level design guidelines, the integrated development of publishing has become important for the development of the publishing industry. This forum has thoroughly implemented the integrated development strategy of publishing and has promoted interdisciplinary research in academia and industry. The Digital Publishing Research Center of Zhejiang University will continue to research the integrated development of the publishing industry in depth, apply the perspective of interdisciplinary research, inspire and guide the advancement of publishing and provide more scientific and effective suggestions for the development of the industry.
