Sino-Japanese joint venture FAW Toyota unveiled the latest Rav 4 on Thursday to explore deeper in the competitive SUV market in China.
The model, available in 14 variants, has gasoline, hybrid and plug-in hybrid powertrains to meet the demand of different customers.
The new Rav 4 measures 4,600 mm in length, 1,855 mm in width and 1,680 mm in height, with a segment-leading 2,690 mm wheelbase. The model has the electric four-wheel-drive system and four driving modes.
In terms of smart features, the new Rav 4 has Toyota's T-Pilot driving-assist system.
Its Toyota Space system features a 10.25-inch display and compatible with the infotainment systems from both Alibaba and Tencent. Other onboard features include wireless charging and the head-up display.
The Rav 4 has been one of the most popular SUV models in China since its arrival in 2009.
Its accumulative sales in the country have reached 1.8 million units, said Dong Xiuhui, president FAW Toyota's sales company.
