Cooperation contracts for 10 key projects worth 6 billion yuan ($867 million) were signed by the local government and multinational corporations at a business event held in Changchun – capital city of Northeast China's Jilin province – on April 25.
According to statistics, in the first quarter of 2023, Jilin's economy continued to recover and develop and the growth rate of its major economic indicators was at the forefront of the country.
The province has been making concerted efforts in its digital transformation, intelligent services, social sharing and industrial upgrading.
It's also been working hard to promote the redistribution of central State-owned enterprises, the development of private enterprises and the participation of foreign capital.
According to Zhang Xiaoyu, a board member of the United Nations University for Peace and an executive vice president of the China International Council for the Promotion of Multinational Corporations, the event had big goals.
The aim is to further promote in-depth cooperation between multinational companies and Jilin province, as well as to introduce more investment projects, so as to further boost Jilin's development and opening-up.
Representatives from multinational companies expressed their willingness to invest in Jilin and deepen cooperation.
UK-based AstraZeneca, Germany's ThyssenKrupp Group, USA group Xylem Corporation and France's Total Energy Group delivered speeches during the event.
