The launch ceremony of the 2023 Wu Cultural Tourism Festival was held in Hongshan sub-district of Wuxi New District (WND) on April 9.
During the ceremony, the Taibo scenic area in Hongshan was named an international culture communication base for overseas Chinese.
The ceremony also saw Hongshan Tourist Resort and Guangxi Diyiwan International Tourism Co Ltd establishing a partnership to develop tourism projects.
The Zhengjue Scripture Writing Institute in Dunhuang, Northwest China's Gansu province, then gave a valuable calligraphy scroll that was written through seal carving to Hongshan.
Hongshan has been leveraging its 3,200-year-old Wu culture to invigorate its tourism sector and attract more tourists. It currently has three national 4A-level scenic spots, a national wetland park, a national archaeological site park, and an international five-star hotel.
