Shanghai Chengdian Fuzhi Technology Co Ltd – based in the Lin-gang Special Area, in East China's Shanghai – recently signed an investment agreement with Chengdu-based China Starwin Science & Technology Co Ltd to launch a satellite internet industry hub in the special area.
That came in the wake of a strategic cooperation agreement they signed last May.
The latest signing will pave the way for them to set up a company in Lin-gang.
This will provide satellite communications services for enterprises and government agencies in the fields of automotive electronics, aviation and navigation, focusing on the satellite internet.
The satellite internet is the wireless internet beamed down from satellites orbiting the Earth – as opposed to land-based internet services that send transmit data through wires running underground.
The two companies will continue to conduct new research and development on satellite internet technology.
They say they are committed to providing satellite communications solutions with low power consumption, a small size and fast mass production – offering high reliability, flexibility and efficiency.
