On April 23, the second phase of the 133rd Canton Fair commenced, with Huangpu district making its debut as a national import trade promotion and innovation demonstration zone. The district's booth, spanning 270 square meters, showcases the area's industrial, policy, and talent advantages.
Huangpu plans to leverage the Canton Fair platform to engage in investment attraction efforts, as well as to promote itself as an import trade promotion and innovation demonstration zone. A total of 25 enterprises from the district participated in the event, covering various sectors in high-tech industries and manufacturing. The Canton Fair is held in three phases, with 74 enterprises from Huangpu attending.
As a continuous frontier for opening up, Huangpu has been engaging in high-level international cooperation in recent years. It boasts numerous international cooperation ties, such as China-Singapore, China-Europe, China-Arab, and China-Israel. In terms of the district's import trade structure, it has gathered over 2,500 high-tech enterprises, forming an import trade pattern that is led by high-tech industries and is supported by the manufacturing industry.
With excellent import and export business environments, Huangpu has attracted a total of 315 projects or enterprises that were set up by Fortune Global 500 companies. Foreign-funded enterprises accounted for 57 percent of the district's import and export share.
In support of the development of new business formats, Huangpu has introduced the Cross-Border E-Commerce Support Policy 2.0, which actively expands the import of high-end consumer goods in cross-border e-commerce.
