China achieved significant breakthroughs in the basic theory, bottomless substrate, core technology, coating formulation, and other aspects of ultra-thin grain-oriented silicon steel, State Grid Smart Grid Research Institute said on Tuesday.
The institute has developed the 0.08mm ultra-thin grain-oriented silicon steel strip and iron core in collaboration with several other companies and institutes including China Iron & Steel Research Institute Group, said the institute under the State Grid Corp of China.
The product has been successfully applied to two ±800kV ultra-high voltage direct current transmission line projects, promoting the localization rate of UHVDC converter valves to a new level, it said.
