Qingzhou Museum

Qingzhou Museum, founded in 1959, is the first museum of intangible heritage in Shandong province, and the only county-level museum among 130 first-class museums. The overall design is a classical ethnic building complex, with 12 exhibition halls and more than 20,000 cultural relics.

Ming Dynasty (1368-1644) Wanli twenty-six years Zhuangyuan Zhao Bingzhong’s exam paper, is the only copy and a treasure of Qingzhou Museum, which fills the gap of Ming Dynasty court archives. It is an important document for studying the imperial examination system and Ming Dynasty history, and is a national first-class cultural relic.

The jade piece "Yizisun" of the Eastern Han Dynasty (25-220) is the only jade piece engraved with Chinese characters in China.

The Buddha statue was unearthed from Longxing Temple in Qingzhou in October 1996. It has a high artistic standard and is known as "the Venus of the East" because of the lost arms.

The seal was made of copper at the end of Jin Dynasty (1115-1234) and the beginning of Yuan Dynasty (1271-1368), and is an official seal. The top of the stamp is engraved with "shang", a Chinese character meaning top. The text is written in nine-folded seal script.

In November 2005, a Jin Dynasty white-glazed pillow engraved with patterns and text was unearthed from Guangfu Temple in Qingzhou city. The porcelain pillow is 26.5 centimeters long, 15 cm wide and 12 cm tall. It is ellipsoid and waist-shaped with a slightly concave pillow surface. It is engraved with a poem by Southern Tang Dynasty (937-975) emperor Li Yu (r. 961-978).

This bronze duo (musical instrument) was cast 22 years after the establishment of the governor's office of ancient Qingzhou, and moved to the Qingzhou Museum in 1960. It is 80 cm tall, with a bottom diameter of 60 cm. Its shoulder is round and its mouth is trumpet-shaped. Its shoulder and abdomen are decorated with nipple and dragon patterns, and its mouth decorated with eight-diagram symbols.

The bottle is 30 cm tall, the spout is 8.8 cm, and the bottom diameter 9.3 cm. The overall picture is clear, with its pattern divided into 7 layers. The glaze is delicate and glossy, with the white background having a subtle blue hue.

This Qing Dynasty (1644-1911) Qianlong (r. 1736-1795) celadon bottle is decorated with bamboo and plum blossom patterns. Its spout measures 4.7 cm in width; it stands at 40.5 cm tall and has a bottom diameter of 12.2 cm. The color is even and the finish is smooth. It shows the prosperity of the Qianlong Reign.
