The new energy heavy-duty truck industrial chain in the city of Ordos, in North China's Inner Mongolia autonomous region, has been extended to better serve the city's goal of building a modern industrial system.
At present, the city has completed the construction of the Chery Automobile new energy passenger vehicle production project, the Guohong hydrogen energy and hydrogen fuel cell stack project, and the Vision energy storage and power battery project.
The city now has nine new energy vehicle industry chain projects under construction. It also has 1,183 pure electric heavy-duty trucks and 151 hydrogen fuel cell heavy-duty trucks, with 60 charging stations and six hydrogenation stations being put into operation.
In the equipment manufacturing industrial park of the Ordos High-tech Industrial Development Zone, the Ordos branch of Chery Automobile Co has achieved full coverage of parts manufacturing, powertrain, and vehicle manufacturing. It has an automation rate of 70 percent, which fully meets its order demand.
This year, the company will also invest 8.6 billion yuan into the construction of the second phase of its automation project for passenger vehicles; which will have an annual production capacity of 200,000 new energy vehicles (NEVs).
Also in the industrial park, the new energy special vehicle modification project has been completed and put into production. The project is invested in and constructed by Inner Mongolia Yingfeng Automobile Co, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Chery Automobile.
Its main products are wide-body mine trucks and heavy-duty dump trucks that utilize pure electric and hydrogen fuel.
