MySE216 – an onshore super large glass fiber blade independently developed by Mingyang Group, rolled off the production line at Mingyang New energy intelligent Manufacturing Industrial Park in Baotou on April 15. Its impeller diameter is 216 meters, the largest of any onshore blade in the world.
The blade is notable for its large size, light weight, and high reliability. Mingyang's research team overcame design challenges related to the onshore flexible blades and achieved a balance between the blade's power generation performance and the machine set's cost.
The blade can be mounted on the 5-megawatt and 6-megawatt onshore wind turbines developed by Mingyang, as well as the flagship models launched by Mingyang for wind power bases in the desert.
In view of extreme weather such as sand and cold in the desert area, Mingyang has researched the blade aerofoil family and the use of materials to ensure the reliability of the machine set.
The release of MySE216 has paved the way for more large-scale onshore wind turbines in China and driven down the cost of wind energy. It will promote the development of the whole industrial chain, including the research and development, manufacturing, and testing of large equipment in the bases, as well as aid in the adjustment and transformation of the energy structure in the desert region and the country as a whole.
