Xi'an, capital of Northwest China's Shaanxi province, is continuing to focus on the dynamic development of its smart terminal industry, a path it has embarked on in recent years.
In so doing, it has deepened the integration and application of new-generation information technologies such as 5G, big data, artificial intelligence and terminal equipment.
Currently, a number of related industries are mainly gathered in the Xi'an High-tech Industries Development Zone (XHTZ) and the Xi'an National Civil Aerospace Industry Base, which undertake more than 95 percent of the output value of the intelligent terminal industry in the province.
In the XHTZ, a pattern of rapid development of manufacturing sectors for smart phones, communication system equipment, industrial computers, robots and others has been formed.
By the end of 2022, the total value of industrial output of intelligent terminal in the XHTZ exceeded 48 billion yuan ($6.99 billion), while the intelligent terminal industry supply chain had developed competitive fields such as R&D design and integrated manufacturing.
The Xi'an National Civil Aerospace Industry Base is currently building an intelligent terminal R&D innovation center.
Chinese smartphone brand Honor is the first big smart terminal company introduced by the aerospace industry base.
As one of the leading international providers of smart terminals, Honor currently has seven R&D centers around the world. The Xi'an R&D center is responsible for the planning, design, testing and verification of the full range of products of the Honor brand.
As a result of all this development, Xi'an is understood to have become an important smart terminal industry hub in the central and western regions of the country.
