E-commerce helps cashmere producers expand overseas market

The customs authority of Ordos in North China's Inner Mongolia autonomous region has facilitated exportation of cashmere products through cross-border e-commerce to develop the overseas market, local media reported.

Recently, export declaration of 86 cashmere products worth 650,000 yuan ($95,000) was completed using the cross-border e-commerce "9710" model by Ordos Customs, which will help to expand the international market of Erdos cashmere products.

"9710" stands for cross-border e-commerce B2B direct export, which refers to the model in which domestic enterprises directly export goods to overseas enterprises through cross-border logistics and transmit relevant electronic data to customs after reaching agreements with overseas enterprises on related transactions through cross-border e-commerce platforms.

Through this model, enterprises can not only simplify the export transaction links and procedures of small orders, but also enjoy the advantage of earlier inspection of their export goods, reduce customs clearance costs, shorten the waiting period for customs clearance, and benefit from policies related to cross-border e-commerce.

"In the past, most of the company's orders came from repeat customers, but now we have our own cross-border e-commerce stores, which has expanded our market in the United States, Germany and the United Kingdom. More and more foreign consumers can learn about our products through the e-commerce platform and export using the '9710' model," said An Xianglan, a manager of Ordos Ya'an Garment Co.
