The remote and fascinating Alshaa League in North China's Inner Mongolia autonomous region has recorded big progress in its tourism sector, with its tourism revenue shooting up to 951 million yuan ($138.83 million) in the first quarter of 2023 – 1.22 times the level for the same period in 2022.
During the three months, domestic tourists made 891,300 trips to the league, 1.18 times the number in the previous corresponding period.

Staff members at the Helan Mountain Guangzong Temple Ecotourism Area said that since the reopening of the scenic spot, more than 10,000 tourists had visited in the first quarter. In addition to local tourists, more tourists streamed in from surrounding regions, including the Ningxia Hui autonomous region, Gansu province and Wuhai city in Inner Mongolia.
