Two technology company incubators from Wuxi National Hi-tech District (WND) recently won national recognition from the Torch High Technology Industry Development Center of the Ministry of Science and Technology, bringing the total number of such incubators in the district to 11.
One of them, the Integrated Circuit (IC) Design Company Incubator, was established in 2002 and provides technical support and value-added services that help companies reduce costs.
As of the end of 2022, the total output of companies in the incubator was more than 3 billion yuan ($435.57 million).
The Intelligent Information Industrial Park affiliated to the Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS) was opened in May 2019. Focusing on sectors including IC, internet of things, big data, blockchain, artificial intelligence and 5G, the park is currently home to 16 high-tech enterprises and 2 listed enterprises.
WND has been making efforts to build sci-tech innovation incubators over the past few years. To date, the district has 19 tech company incubators and four accelerators above the provincial level.
