The automobile industry is on the road to major expansion in the city of Taizhou, located in East China's Jiangsu province.

That's thanks to a comprehensive high-end automobile industrial supply chain being ramped up by over 40 component suppliers of Great Wall Motor Company Limited, or GWM.

GWM is an international auto manufacturing giant and its subsidiary  Taizhou Branch of Great Wall Automobile Co Ltd manufactured over 10,000 electric vehicles, meeting its target, in the first two months of the year.

Fengchao Weiling Power Technology (Jiangsu) Co Ltd, a Taizhou-based subsidiary of GWM, recently signed agreements with Sumitomo Corporation (Shanghai) on the manufacturing of chemical raw materials and chemical products. Both sides reached consensus about researching and developing core components of hydrogen fuel vehicles.

In addition, the Taizhou municipal government is now promoting the construction of a GWM intelligent park focused on automobile component manufacturing.

As soon as it starts operations, it's expected to provide a combination of designs, manufacturing, displays and office services.

The intelligent park is scheduled to open in next April, with a floor space of over 120,000 square meters and costing 1.05 billion yuan ($152.74 million).

Figures show that since GWM (Taizhou) started up, it has attracted over 10 core component manufacturers – such as MIND Electronics Appliance Co Ltd, Exquisite Automotive Systems Co Ltd and Nobo Automotive System Co Ltd – and over 30 related auto parts suppliers.
