On the evening of April 9, the East Lake High-tech Development Zone (also known as Optics Valley of China, or OVC) organized a spectacular candlelit concert, with young musicians surrounded by thousands of candles playing songs by Jay Chou, under the view tower of the valley's central ecological corridor. Jay Chou is a popular singer, songwriter, record producer, rapper, actor, and television personality from Taiwan.
The performance attracted an audience of about 800 people, and many of Jay Chou's classic songs were played by the orchestra, such as White & Blue Porcelain, Fragrant Rice, East Wind Breaks, and Balloons of Love.

A light show was simultaneously conducted on the view tower, and many people swayed and waved their arms along with the familiar music. Some of them did not leave the venue even after the two-hour performance was over.

"The OVC audience is so passionate, and we see how vibrant the valley is," said Luo Hao, the orchestra's keyboard player.
"The atmosphere is so great! I like this kind of activity very much. I am very glad that OVC has organized such activities," said a female resident surnamed Peng.
