The China Public Relations Association launched "Generation Z 2023: The Future of the Silk Road" on April 6 at the National Museum of China. The event aims to foster cultural exchange among young people from China and abroad, and to explore the story of the Silk Road.

A diverse group of Generation Z members from around the world have been invited to participate in the event. From April 10 to 29, they will embark on trips to Luoyang, Weinan, and Dunhuang, where they will immerse themselves in Chinese culture and explore historical sites along the ancient Silk Road.

Each trip will focus on a specific aspect of Chinese culture. For example, the Luoyang trip will introduce participants to the Luoyang Shuixi (water banquet), showcasing the beauty of Chinese cuisine. In Weinan, Shaanxi province, visitors can enjoy the unique Laoqiang Opera, a traditional Chinese musical performance, while the Dunhuang trip in Gansu province will highlight Chinese art culture.

In addition to exploring Chinese culture, the trip to Weinan will take on an extra mission of planting the "Gen Z Youth Eco Forest" to promote awareness of green development among young people.

During the ceremony, Guo Weimin, chairman of China Public Relations Association and former vice-minister of the State Council Information Office of China, expressed his hope that young people from China and abroad would use this opportunity to deepen their understanding of Chinese culture and share their unique perspectives with the world to promote Chinese culture.

Wang Hao, deputy editor-in-chief of China Daily, also participated in the launch ceremony and delivered a speech, expressing China Daily's commitment to collaborating with partners who support youth development to foster a global community of shared growth for Generation Z.

At the end of the ceremony, representatives from Generation Z were given flags for each trip, marking the official start of the event.
