Cao Xuetao, vice-minister of China's National Health Commission (NHC), met with Indonesia's Deputy Minister of Health Dante Saksono in Beijing on April 4, to exchange views on deepening health cooperation between the two countries.
Cao said that health cooperation between China and Indonesia has become increasingly close in recent years. The two sides have signed health agreements, established health cooperation working groups, and achieved fruitful results in COVID-19 prevention and control, health workforce development and traditional medicine exchanges, which has contributed to maintaining regional health security, promoting regional health development, and advancing medical innovation.
China is willing to work together with Indonesia to deepen high-level practical health collaboration and further promote the health and well-being of the people of both countries, he noted.
Dante praised the achievements made in bilateral health cooperation in recent years, introduced the reform of Indonesia's health system and put forward suggestions for further cooperation. He also expressed willingness to deepen bilateral cooperation in medical services and innovative research and development to benefit the people of both countries.
