Guangzhou, Philippines to promote cooperation

Lin Keqing, Party secretary of Guangzhou, met with a delegation led by Gloria Macapagal Arroyo, the senior deputy speaker of the House of Representatives in the Philippines in Guangzhou on March 31. 

Lin welcomed Arroyo and expressed his gratitude for her contribution to the exchanges and cooperation between Guangzhou and the Philippines. He said that Guangzhou has maintained close and friendly exchanges with the Philippines for more than 40 years. 

Currently, Guangzhou is promoting Chinese-style modernization, utilizing the real economy as its foundation and manufacturing as its leading enterprise. It is also making every effort to promote the development of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area and accelerate Nansha's opening-up efforts. 

Lin added that Guangzhou will deepen the implementation of the Belt and Road Initiative, and further promote new achievements in exchanges and cooperation between the two places.

Arroyo said that Guangzhou is a livable and business-friendly city that has developed rapidly in recent years, with remarkable results. The Philippines will continue to work to promote deeper cooperation between the two parties in various fields such as economy, trade, industry, and culture. They will also promote friendly exchanges targeting young people to achieve higher-level mutual benefits for both sides.
