MOFCOM SCHOLARSHIP-CSC Program

Degree Education Programs sponsored by the Ministry of Commerce of People's Republic of China is designed to foster high-end business officials and managerial personnel for the recipient countries, offering one-year and two-year master programs as well as three-year doctoral programs for the purpose of educating high-end and inter-disciplinary talent working in the applied fields of government, trade, foreign affairs, agriculture, technology, education, culture and health, building intellectual capacity and facilitating the economic and social development of the recipient countries. These programs provide assistance to governmental officials, research fellows, and senior managerial personnel on their master and doctor education in China, which are fully conducted in English. Admission requirements include a bachelor's degree, relevant working experiences, and decent physical conditions, essential for the high-compact curriculum needed for the degrees. The programs are playing a more and more important role in stimulating economic cooperation between China and students' home countries, which the host governments are attaching great attention to this program. MOFCOM Scholarship-CSC Program is set up by Ministry of Commerce of People's Republic of China to further strengthen the communication and cooperation between China and other countries as well as to develop talents for developing countries. Starting from 2015, MOFCOM Scholarship-CSC Program mainly sponsors the young and the middle-aged talents from recipient countries to pursue their postgraduate degree education in China. China Scholarship Council is entrusted to administer the Scholarship.

Contemporary China Studies (CCSP)

The Contemporary China Studies Program resides within the School of International Studies. It is the first English-taught program established in Renmin University and it offers overseas students who are not yet proficient in Chinese the opportunity to study governance and foreign relations while living in China's capital city.

The CCSP recruits students from all over the world, fostering a unique multidisciplinary and multinational environment in which diverse backgrounds and experiences enhance rigorous academic study.

The two-year master's program provides a comprehensive introduction to the economy, politics, law, society, and foreign policy of contemporary China. In the second year, the program supports students as they conduct independent research on a topic of their choosing. Upon completion of the program, graduates will earn a Master's degree as recognized by the Ministry of Education of the People's Republic of China.

Global Journalism and Communication Master's Program on Belt Road Initiative (BRJC)

The School of Journalism and Communication, Renmin University of China launched the Global Journalism and Communication Master's Program on Belt Road Initiative (BRJC) in 2017. The program was officially launched in March 2018. BRJC, a two-year professional Master's program taught in English, aims at training communication talents with international perspectives, multimedia reporting and storytelling proficiency, and dedication to promoting mutual understanding between different cultures and countries.

The program's curriculum consists of a variety of intermediate and advanced-level communication and journalism courses, including media history and theories development, media industry, practical skills and research methods. Additionally, the program offers Chinese language training and courses on Chinese politics, economy, society and culture.

In the first year, students focus on coursework, reporting practice and media internship. In the second year, students can choose to work on either Master's theses on practical topics or portfolios. Students in the program work closely with advisors and other faculty members. All the multimedia production facilities and studios at the School are available to students on appointment basis.

MA in Chinese Philosophy, Religion, and Culture (CPRC)

The School of Philosophy, Renmin University of China, is one of the largest institutes for philosophical study in China and the world, with an international reputation for academic excellence. The School has 80 full-time faculty members, about 400 graduate students, and 300 undergraduate students. It offers courses on all aspects of philosophy.

The School of Philosophy proudly offers a two-year MA program in Chinese Philosophy, Religion, and Culture (CPRC). All courses for this program (except Chinese language) are taught in English. It offers oversea students, who are not proficient in Chinese language, a valuable opportunity to study closely Chinese philosophy, religion, and culture while living in China. This program has attracted students from all over the world, and it endeavors to create a unique environment in which diverse backgrounds and experiences will enhance rigorous academic study.

This program covers a wide range of topics on Chinese philosophy (especially Confucianism and Daoism), Chinese religion (especially Buddhism, sociology of religion, and folk religions), and Chinese culture (both ancient and contemporary). After fulfilling all the course work, the student will conduct independent study on a selected topic and write a master thesis with his or her academic supervisor. Upon completion of the program, the graduates will earn a Master Degree of philosophy, recognized by the Ministry of Education of the People's Republic of China, and will be well prepared to pursue a PhD in Chinese philosophy or work in related fields.

This program also provides students with opportunities to visit some of China's most important religious and cultural places, such as the Forbidden City, Temple of Heaven, Lama Tempe in Beijing, Qufu, Xi'an etc.
