Horse industry booms in Baotou

Horse breeding, equestrian competitions and horse tourism in Baotou have all recently seen a surge in interest both at home and abroad.

The Baotou Zhongma Horse Industry Base is located in Jiuyuan district of Baotou. Professional polo players in Baotou come to the base for training every day, despite the fact that its 50,000-square-meter polo field is going through spring maintenance procedures.

The base also features a 1,000-meter-long speed racetrack with soft and moderately thick sand. The high-quality sand, and the fact that the track has no obstacles, is very conducive to horse racing.

The older Meiligeng racetrack, which is also in Baotou district, is currently being renovated and upgraded. In addition to fixing the racetrack, its grandstands will also be rebuilt to accommodate more spectators to attract more people to Baotou to experience its unique horse culture.
