The Nantong National High-tech Industrial Development Zone held a special job fair for veterans on April 2, local media reported.
During the fair, more than 70 enterprises offered over 700 jobs, and nearly 200 veterans attended the event.
Among the jobseekers was Shi Jiangwei, who was discharged from military service on March 1.
According to Shi, who graduated from Nanjing University of Finance and Economics with a major in human resource management, he wanted to find a job in administration or sales.
"This job fair is a great opportunity for me to find a good job," said Shi.
Liz Electronics (Nantong) Co Ltd offered many jobs at the job fair.
Ji Chenli, a recruiting specialist at the company, said that veterans have experienced strict training and tend to be more hardworking and loyal than other jobseekers. All else being equal, the company is more inclined to recruit veterans, she added.
