A groundbreaking ceremony for a new energy battery and storage solutions production plant was held on April 7 in Mulan county in Harbin, capital city of China's northernmost Heilongjiang province.
The facility will be operated by China Shipbuilding Group Wind Power Development Co and will aim to help implement the country's carbon peak carbon and carbon neutral targets.
It will be located in the Mulan Industrial Park and will occupy an area of 65,000 square meters.
It will have a floorage area of 25,000 sq m and receive a total investment of 310 million yuan ($44.60 million). Its representative products will be 20-foot intelligent string energy storage boxes - in effect, home batteries.
When the facility starts operating, it is expected to generate around 1,000 jobs and provide solutions for air pollution in the winter for locals.
