Zhangjiang to develop digitalization

Themed on Shanghai's digitalization, a series of salons were held at Zhangjiang Science City in Pudong New Area in Shanghai on March 29.

Experts and scholars from world-class biomedicine, digital information and artificial intelligence industrial clusters shared their opinions on the metaverse.

The activities are expected to give full play to Zhangjiang's advantages in basic research, strategic science and technology, focusing on the development of integrated circuit, artificial intelligence and other key industries to speed up the building of digital demonstration scenes.

Professor Sheng Bin, deputy director of the Institute of Computer Applications at Shanghai Jiao Tong University, shared the development process and application prospects of metaverse technology to show how the metaverse will reshape humanity. At present, his team has carried out a lot of research in the fields of metaverse medicine, sports, psychology. For example, his team developed the DeepDR system for the intelligent diagnosis of diabetes retinopathy, as well as snowmobile simulation training platform based on virtual reality.

During the event, representatives from China Unicom and DGene shared their research on digital bases, digital twin cities, and spatial computing to promote metaverse technology in different walks of life.

Experts and industry representatives also discussed topics including the characteristics of the metaverse, digital asset value and security, and Zhangjiang's future development.
