The Xi'an area of the China (Shaanxi) Pilot Free Trade Zone (FTZ) – located in Xi'an, capital of Northwest China's Shaanxi province – is moving from strength to strength and on April 1 it ushered in the sixth anniversary of its establishment.
Over the past six years, it has focused on reform and opening-up, attracted a raft of key industries and created a top business ecosystem, adding momentum to the city's overall development.
More than 630 innovative cases have been formed in the Xi'an area of the Shaanxi FTZ during the course of that period. Some 35 were notified and affirmed by the State Council and relevant ministries and commissions, while another 66 have been promoted throughout the province.
From April 1, 2017 to Jan 31, 2023, a total of 150,630 business entities were added in the Xi'an area of the Shaanxi FTZ.
In addition, the area has formed a comprehensive layout of key industries – represented by electronics information, high-end equipment manufacturing, aerospace, biomedicine, artificial intelligence, modern logistics, as well as conferences and exhibitions.
Moreover, the Xi'an area has introduced high-end scientific and technological innovation personnel and established multi-level and wide-ranging international sci-tech exchanges and cooperation with more than 40 countries and regions.
