SAIC's flagship MG 7 coupe hits market

MG 7, a flagship coupe that bears the black MG logo, hit the market on Wednesday.

It is available in six variants, priced from 119,800 yuan ($17,434) to 169,800 yuan.

It measures 4,884 millimeters in length, 1,889 mm in width and 1,447 mm in height, with the wheelbase reaching 2,778 mm.

The model has two powertrain options. One is a 1.5-liter turbocharged engine paired with a seven-speed gearbox and the other is a 2.0-liter turbocharged engine and a nine-speed gearbox.

While the former produces a maximum output of 180 horsepower, the latter can generate a maximum output of 261 horsepower and a top torque of 405 Newton meters.

It can accelerate from 0-100 kilometers per hour in 6.5 seconds and its fuel consumption per 100 km stands at 6.2 liters.

MG 7 is also equipped with an eLSD, which stands for electronic limited slip differential, that improves handling. It is the first model priced below 500,000 yuan to have this feature.

Onboard features include the Bose audio system and a 33-inch display as well as an augmented reality head-up display. Advanced driving-assist functions are also available.
