As of now, all three customs supervision codes (9610, 9710, and 9810) for cross-border e-commerce retail have been made available at the HZMB.

Code 9810 is the upgraded version of B2C cross-border e-commerce retail export mode. Cross-border logistics used to undergo long procedures for domestic transportation, domestic customs, overseas customs, and overseas transportation. It also had a high breakage risk rate, and was often congested and delayed during peak seasons.

Now, the 9810 operation mode allows buyers to get their cross-border goods after only overseas logistics, as other transportation and customs inspection procedures will have been completed in advance by the overseas warehouses, increasing the delivery efficiency by more than 70 percent.

The HZMB Customs office has fully embraced operations mode 9810, striving to help enterprises open new export channels via Hong Kong and Macao airports. Convenient measures, such as helping enterprises learn more about B2B cross-border e-commerce export procedures and giving them priority during examination procedures, are also in effect.

Currently, the HZMB Zhuhai Port has attracted famous international cross-border e-commerce platforms, such as Cainiao and Pinduoduo, to export products to more than 200 countries and regions like Malaysia and Saudi Arabia.

Gu Jiping, the person in charge of Guangdong Bay Area supply chain, noted that the HZMB Zhuhai Port's cross-border e-commerce business volume has been increasing for years thanks to its continuously optimized customs inspection services. As of now, the export volume of the port's cross-border e-commerce accounts for over 90 percent of Zhuhai's total.

In the first two months of 2023, the value of cross-border e-commerce products exported via the port surged by 193.1 percent year-on-year, and now stands at 7.57 billion yuan ($1.1 billion), according to Gongbei Customs.
