Wuxi in East China's Jiangsu province is expected to be ranked first in the province over the past 10 years in its scientific and technological contribution rate.
Last year, the city's contribution rate was more than 68 percent and the ratio of the output value of high-tech industries to that of industries above designated size increased to 50.4 percent.
The achievements were mainly attributed to the efforts made by local authorities.
In 2022, Wuxi continued to promote the clustering of innovative businesses and improve their innovation capacity and vitality.
The number of certified small and medium-sized technology enterprises in the city exceeded 10,000 for the first time, reaching 10,651, and the number of high-tech enterprises in the city reached 5,546.
In addition, local authorities exempted 11,275 companies from 18.09 billion yuan ($2.62 billion) in taxes.
Wuxi also rolled out policies to promote scientific and technological innovation and accelerate the construction of an industrial scientific and technological innovation hub with international influence.
