Wuhan holds ceremony to promote tech transformations

The Wuhan Economic and Technological Development Zone located in Wuhan, capital of Central China's Hubei province, held a ceremony on March 21 to step up transformation efforts to turn technological progress into economic and industrial applications, local media reported.

The activity, jointly organized by the zone's bureau of technological innovation and the bureau of finance, aims to promote the transformation of scientific and technological progress made by universities into industrial applications to boost the integration of its innovation chain with its industrial chain.

At the ceremony, seven local companies signed agreements with some Wuhan-based universities on technological projects, with a total value of 2.73 million yuan ($400,000).

Seven local companies, including Wuhan's Cloud-Clone Corp, reached cooperation agreements with Huazhong Agricultural University, Wuhan University of Technology, Wuhan Railway Vocational College of Technology, Hubei University of Technology, Jianghan University and the Chinese Academy of Sciences' Institute of Hydrobiology, in the fields of new energy auto, new materials, bio-medicine, and intelligent manufacturing.

Hankou Bank, CITIC Bank, and Wuhan Agricultural and Commercial Bank also presented their policies and products in support for the transformation of scientific and technological achievements into economic and industrial applications.
