Shanghai's 'four-leaf clover' in full bloom in spring

As the largest convention and exhibition complex in the Yangtze River Delta region and the permanent venue for the China International Import Expo, the National Convention and Exhibition Center (Shanghai), which is shaped like a four-leaf clover, has been a dazzling "star" shining on the stage of Shanghai Hongqiao International Central Business District recently.

The center held a series of exhibitions this month, including the China International Bearing Industry Exhibition and the 11th China (Shanghai) International Fluid Machinery Exhibition from March 7 to 10, displaying the latest products and cutting-edge technologies. Covering 100,000 square meters, the two exhibitions attracted numerous participants from China and abroad, marking the strong recovery of the exhibition industry in Shanghai.

It also hosted the 26th Food Ingredients China from March 15 to 17, which attracted tens of thousands of attendees from all over the world eager to witness the latest trends in the development of the food additives and ingredients sector.

To date, the center has reached cooperation intention agreements with about 50 exhibition organizers. The total exhibition area is expected to exceed 5.3 million sq m this year.

An array of large-scale, high-quality, and new exhibitions will be held in the center, including the forthcoming Shanghai auto show, the Shanghai International Medical Devices Exhibition, and the China International Industry Fair. There will be 10 ultra-large exhibitions that occupy 12 halls or more, nearly 10 new exhibitions, such as Electronica China, and more than 40 conferences.

To restart offline exhibitions with high-quality services, the center has launched 38 measures to optimize the business environment and enrich supporting functions of the hall, covering conferences, catering, transportation, and accommodation.

The Shanghai Hongqiao International CBD has witnessed a recovery of the convention and exhibition industry. Relying on the spillover effect of the CIIE, Hongqiao has become a two-way bridge for foreign capital to enter China and for Chinese enterprises to go global.
