A total of 17 key projects are to settle in the Wuhan Economic and Technological Development Zone (WEDZ) in Wuhan, Central China's Hubei province, with the contract value totaling 49.8 billion yuan ($7.23 billion), according to local media reports.
The contract value ranks WEDZ first in the city.
The signed projects include Breton's management headquarters and production base, the SPIC comprehensive smart zero-carbon power plant, the Dongfeng E-link Automobile Hubei regional sales headquarters, and the HSAE Electronic Technology Center. The projects cover the headquarters economy, the digital economy, high-end displays, the zero-carbon economy, new materials and other fields.

The total investment of the Breton headquarters and production base project is 5.16 billion yuan ($749 million). The project will build a production base for energy engineering vehicles, a research and development center, as well as Breton's management headquarters, sales center, and settlement center.
SPIC Hubei Co plans to build a comprehensive smart zero-carbon power plant in the development zone, and will gradually promote this application throughout the whole region. It will also attract electrochemical energy storage, color photovoltaic modules, and manufacturing enterprises for new energy building materials to settle in the zone.
