The inpatient ward of the traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) department at Yunyan District People's Hospital in Yunyan district, Guiyang, capital of Southwest China's Guizhou province, was put into operation on March 18.
The TCM (acupuncture) department is one of the primary departments of Yunyan District People's Hospital.
The department currently has eight doctors, eight nurses, an outpatient department and an inpatient department, and mainly uses TCM therapy to treat patients.
The department recently added services such as fumigation, scraping, and moxibustion, and increased the number of beds.
A patient surnamed Zhang was among the first inpatients after the opening of the ward. More than 20 years ago, she went to the hospital for lumbar problems.
"The hospital has changed a lot. In the past, there were no beds and no inpatient treatment. Now there is an independent ward. Not only is the environment better, but the medics are caring. My experience staying here is also much better," Zhang said.
Moving forward, the hospital will continue to improve its service capabilities and meet the people's growing health needs so that more and more people can enjoy high-quality medical services.
