At 6:45 on March 18, a Boeing 777 cargo aircraft loaded with 3 tons of chilled salmon landed at the Changsha Huanghua International Airport, Hunan Province. The plane took off from Chile in South America, stopped in Ethiopia, Africa, and finally arrived in Changsha. It passed through three continents during the 30-plus-hour journey, bringing the delicious food to Changsha citizens. This is the first time that Chilean chilled salmon has been imported via Changsha Huanghua International Airport.
Fruits, chilled salmon and other products from Chile and other South American countries have been well received by domestic consumers. However, there is no direct air route from South America to Changsha. Therefore, Hunan has opened the "South America-Africa-Changsha" route for imported fruit and chilled products, which makes it convenient for Changsha to import high-quality fresh food from South America.
At present, the Changsha Customs leverages air route resources to build a platform to ensure efficient import customs clearance. It takes only 30 hours for the South American fresh food to arrive in Changsha by cargo flight. And the transit time in Africa is also included. This ensures that the products are freshly marketed.
