The new Guangzhou Art Museum is scheduled to open this year in Guangzhou. The building's exterior resembles a "blooming hero flower" and features a five-story atrium and photovoltaic glass curtain wall.
The project consists of five above-ground floors and two underground floors, with all floors exceeding 8 meters in height, making it suitable for showcasing a wide range of artwork.
The project is being built by Guangdong Jian Gong Ji Tuan and has entered its final construction stage, with 96.5 percent of the construction completed. Guangdong Jian Gong Ji Tuan has set a goal of completing the project within 80 days and aims to achieve full completion by the end of May this year.
The museum's curtain wall is made entirely of photovoltaic glass. The exterior is made up of 21,008 pieces of fish-scale-like glass that have been artificially assembled with an error rate of fewer than 2 millimeters, earning the project a design patent. The main building of the new museum is shaped like a blooming hero flower, which consists of four sides and 12 "petals."
