Wuxi cements financial cooperation with Macao

The Wuxi Macao Cooperation and Development Exchange Conference was held in Macao on Feb 23, marking the opening of the third Wuxi Financial Fair.

Du Xiaogang, Party secretary of Wuxi, said that the Wuxi Financial Fair is dedicated to creating a cooperation and exchange platform for economic and finance circles.

Macao is the first place outside Wuxi to host the fair, noted Du. He added that Macao is an important city along the Maritime Silk Road and integrates both Chinese and western culture.

Macao is also a good partner for Wuxi to cooperate with the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area and develop the Yangtze River Delta – Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao (Wuxi) Science and Innovation Industry Integrated Development Zone, according to the Party secretary.

He expects more people to seek business opportunities in Wuxi and said that the city itself will improve its business environment and offer the best possible resources.

Chang Weich'un, president of Chongwa (Macao) Financial Asset Exchange Co Ltd, said that he is looking forward to further exchanges with Wuxi in the bond business, overseas State-owned assets trading, financial technology, and other fields, as well as promoting financial cooperation between Chinese mainland and Macao in international capital markets.

At the event, Wuxi districts, financial institutions, and enterprises also inked cooperation agreements with financial institutions in Macao.
