Special market features products from Portuguese-speaking countries and Macao to debut in Hengqin

The 2023 "Special Market for Products from Portuguese-speaking Countries and Macao" grand opening will be held for the first time outside Macao from March 10 to 12 at Legend Ponto Square, Hengqin. Visitors will not only be able to enjoy Portuguese BBQ, Portuguese custard tarts, and other specialties, but also enjoy performances, such as Portuguese songs, dances, and magic shows.

The event is jointly organized by the Macao Trade and Investment Promotion Institute and Economic Development Bureau of the Guangdong-Macao In-depth Cooperation Zone in Hengqin. Twenty-six SMEs from Macao and Hengqin will participate in this new event, and they will exhibit and offer for sale a wide range of special products from Portuguese-speaking countries and Macao. Fine items will include canned food, beverages, aroma-therapeutic products, accessories, snacks, and culturally creative products.

A variety of delectable cuisine, such as Portuguese BBQ and Portuguese custard tarts will be provided, giving visitors a unique experience for their taste buds. Meanwhile, live commerce will be exhibited. Additionally, brand histories will be told in an interactive way to showcase the images of brands, improve product exposure, expand sales channels, and increase business opportunities.

With the Portuguese architecture at Legend Ponto Square as an exciting backdrop, event activities, such as performances of Portuguese songs and dances, mini-games, and art workshops will be on display. Event goers can even learn how to make Portuguese handicrafts, such as cockerel brooches onsite. The public, businesspeople, and tourists will have a chance to fully experience the charm of this Chinese and Portuguese cultural convergence.
