Hunan to roll out 42 electronic information manufacturing projects

The Hunan Department of Industry and Information Technology recently released 42 key projects of electronic information manufacturing to be launched this year, mainly in such sectors as advanced computing, new display, and energy electronics. The total investment of these projects reached 138.5 billion CNY, with more than 500 million CNY for each project. It is scheduled that 47.3 billion CNY of investment will be implemented in 2023, and more than 150 billion CNY in annual revenue is anticipated upon the full-capacity production of the projects.

Strengthen advanced industries and advance core competitiveness. Priority will be given to boosting the World Computing - Changsha Intelligent Valley and other related projects to further complete the advanced computing industry system; and, strengthening influence of Hunan's power semiconductor industry, and building power semiconductor industrial bases of national importance in the medium and low voltage power devices project of the CRRC Zhuzhou Times Semiconductor Co., Ltd. and the Hunan Sanan Semiconductor project second phase.

Shore up weaknesses and reinforce resiliency of industrial and supply chains. Efforts will be made to facilitate forming of new display industrial chain through several intelligent manufacturing industrial clusters around the province, and attract over 1,000 enterprises related to key materials, parts, and whole machine production to the 5G and electronic circuit industrial parks.

Map out industrial layout and create new development "engines". Hunan will carry out a series of energy and battery projects, plan for an integrated industrial chain containing anode and cathode materials, mattery cells, energy storage, and battery recycling, and foster new growth points of the electronic information manufacturing industry.

Attract investment and expand industries. Among the 42 key projects, 23 featured industrial projects transferred from other provinces, which would help further expand and strengthen Hunan's electronic information manufacturing industry.
