2 Huangpu enterprises selected as national technology centers

The National Development and Reform Commission recently announced the 29th batch of national enterprise technology centers, of which five enterprises in Guangdong province were selected, including two enterprises in Huangpu district - Daan Gene and Guangzhou Haozhi Industrial.

The title of National Enterprise Technology Center is one of the most influential technical innovation platforms granted by departments like the National Development and Reform Commission. It comprehensively evaluates the innovative talents, technological accumulation, innovation platform, and technological output of the applicant companies. 

Daan Gene is a State-owned biomedicine high-tech enterprise integrating the research and development, production, as well as sales of clinical laboratory reagents, instruments, and supporting consumables, focusing on the development and application of fluorescent PCR diagnostic reagents.

Guangzhou Haozhi Industrial is a State-owned high-tech enterprise specializing in the R&D, design, production, sales, and maintenance services of high-end CNC machine tools, robots, as well as core components of new energy vehicles, topping the world in market share in the field of electric spindles.

Huangpu focuses on promoting high-level science and technology self-reliance, vigorously supporting the construction of a technology innovation system led by enterprises. These national enterprise technology centers have become the "leading troops" of high-quality development in Huangpu.

To date, Huangpu has cultivated 20 national enterprise technology centers, accounting for half of Guangzhou's total, despite only accounting for 2 percent of the city's number of industrial enterprises. Its enterprises account for 16.8 percent of the output value of the city's industrial enterprises.

The 20 national enterprise technology centers in Huangpu have accumulated 25,000 patent applications, 15,914 authorized patents, and 1,514 PCT international patent applications. Among them, nine enterprises have also been recognized as national manufacturing champions demonstration enterprises, becoming industry leaders with strong innovation capabilities, high market share, mastery of key core technologies, as well as excellent quality and efficiency.

The two newly added enterprise technology centers in Huangpu will provide more support for enterprise technology innovation in the district, help enterprises achieve high-quality development, and bolster the sustainable development of the regional economy. In the future, Huangpu will continue to increase its support for technological innovation, provide more policy support for enterprise technology innovation, and assist enterprises in achieving rapid development in technological innovation.
