Changsha to comprehensively advance olympic central park construction in 2023

A coordination and promotion meeting on Changsha-Zhuzhou-Xiangtan or CZT Green Core Central Park Changsha Area planning and implementation was held in Changsha on February 22. At the meeting, the Overall Design Results of CZT Green Core Central Park, the First Batch of the Proposed List of Key Projects of CZT Green Core Central Park, and the Task List of Major Projects in the Four Major Areas were examined and approved.

As key projects of the Green Core Central Park Phase I, the Changsha Olympic Central Park and the Flower and Horticultural Expo Park have completed planning and site selection. The construction of the projects will be carefully planned and scheduled to ensure steady progress in 2023.

The Changsha Olympic Central Park is to locate in Muyun Neighborhood, Tianxin District, with a planned area of 10 square meters. 

It will adopt the layout of "one axis, one ring, and four areas". "One axis" refers to a sports axis along which riverside Olympic sports venues, physical education institutes and training bases are arrayed. "One ring" refers to a ring featuring countryside landscape along the Xiangjiang River and Guanqiao River. "Four areas" refer to four special functional areas, namely TOD（Transit-Oriented Development）Station City, Light of Sports, Mountain Art, and Vine Field Gallery. 

The park is positioned as a famous international sports town, a new engine for regional development, a poetic dwelling town, and a sustainable and livable urban area.

Changsha Olympic Central Park's three key projects have been identified, namely the Hunan Vocational College of Sports, the Hunan Sports Training Base including a national training base, and the Comprehensive Stadium. Tasks will be arranged in accordance with the requirements of the bid for the 16th National Games in 2029.

As planned, the 12.48-sqm Flower and Horticultural Expo Park, or Flower and Horticultural Town will be situated in Tiaoma Neighborhood, Yuhua District. Its three essential projects have also been made clear, which are the power grid rerouting project, the Flower and Horticultural Expo Park Hunan Pavilion, and the Provincial Flower and Horticultural Expo Park. The planning and design of related exhibition areas will be carried out in 2023.
